Minimum IELTS Required for Canadian Job Application

To move to a place where English is the medium language, IELTS or International English Language Test System is a standard exam you have to give as proof of knowing and understanding the English language. The English exam measures your English language proficiency in accordance with the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB).

IELTS is typically one of the validated educational tests that assist in gauging a candidate’s English language fluency. 

A nine-band rating is used to quantify the extent of command over the language. Academic IELTS and General Training IELTS are the two different types of IELTS tests.

What does Express Entry mean?

A quicker route for skilled immigrants to obtain resident status in Canada is through the Express Entry System. This allows Canada to fill in skill gaps in job fields that need specific skills. There are three separate routes in this system:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program
  • Canadian Experience Class

What criteria must one meet in order to obtain a Canadian work permit?

The following qualifications must be met to obtain a work permit in Canada:

  • Age: There is no set upper age limit for applicants seeking permanent residence in Canada. However, the candidate must be older than 18. 
  • Education: To be qualified an individual must possess a bachelor’s degree, which is the equivalent of a Canadian Secondary School graduate.
  • Work experience: Candidates for the majority of programs must have a minimum of one year of professional experience.
  • Language proficiency: IELTS is one of the main requirements for obtaining a work permit. 
  • Prerequisites for flexibility: The applicant receives marks for their capacity to adjust to the host nation. The candidate receives 10 points for work experience in Canada, but only 5 points for two years of study there.
