ENSICAEN Eiffel Scholarship 2027 Open: Engineering Study in France with Monthly Funding
France’s Eiffel scholarship offers €1,200 monthly for master’s-level study and €2,000 for doctoral study, plus travel and insurance support. ENSICAEN’s 2027 call is open—but your first task is to secure the school’s support.
Interested in engineering or nuclear engineering? This guide explains how to choose your route, prepare your file and reach the nomination stage before the student deadline.
Your ENSICAEN application checklist
01 Which ENSICAEN route fits your plans?
The call lists an engineering diploma, a nuclear-engineering master’s-level qualification and a jointly supervised doctorate. For the doctorate, ENSICAEN specifies cotutelle or co-supervision with a foreign partner institution.
| Route | Clarify before applying |
|---|---|
| Engineering diploma | Which specialisation and entry year match your previous studies? |
| Nuclear engineering | What are the current programme title, teaching language and prerequisites? |
| Doctorate | Who will supervise the project, and how will the international arrangement work? |
Start with one exact programme rather than a general request for “any scholarship.” If your subject does not fit, compare other French institutions with published Eiffel application routes.

02 Do the age and language rules fit you?
National Eiffel limits are 29 for master’s-level applicants and 35 for doctoral applicants. The 2027 birth-date thresholds are after March 1997 and March 1991, respectively. However, ENSICAEN’s page says “29 at most in 2026” without separating levels. Doctoral candidates above that local limit should obtain written clarification before preparing a full file.
For the master’s component, applicants already studying in France are ineligible. Declare existing scholarships too: Eiffel cannot be combined with another French government scholarship, Erasmus+ or an Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie scholarship.
ENSICAEN also requires B2 French for its engineering diploma at graduation. That does not establish the language evidence needed at admission. Ask which certificate or assessment your chosen programme accepts before paying for a test.

03 Will Eiffel cover your full study budget?
Eiffel supports living costs and mobility, but it does not itself pay tuition. Accommodation-search assistance is included; free accommodation is not promised. Eligible French government scholarship holders can benefit from registration-fee exemptions for qualifying national or engineering degrees at relevant public institutions. Ask for the remaining charges for your exact course.
Master’s funding can last up to 12 months for M2, 24 months for M1 or 36 months for an engineering diploma. Doctoral funding depends on the approved arrangement. Your award letter determines your actual support.
Before accepting an offer, budget for deposits, initial expenses and any uncovered fees. A nomination is encouraging, but it is not yet a scholarship award.

04 How do you apply without getting lost between portals?
Begin with ENSICAEN, because only French institutions can submit Eiffel nominations to Campus France. Follow this sequence:
- Request the application link. Read ENSICAEN’s official Eiffel instructions, then email international@ensicaen.fr. State your intended programme, qualifications, nationality and date of birth. Suggested subject: “Eiffel 2027 – [Programme] – [Your name]”.
- Upload the required documents: identity document, recommendation letter, latest diploma, transcripts for 2025 and 2026, CV and motivation letter. Ask about translations, file formats and missing current-year results.
- Prepare for the video motivation interview if shortlisted. Practise explaining your programme choice through a relevant project, academic achievement and concrete career goal.
- Resolve nomination and admission separately. If validated, ENSICAEN submits your Eiffel file. Ask which admission procedure remains necessary for your programme and country of residence. Consult Campus France’s official programme information for funding conditions.

05 Which deadline should you work towards?
The last date to apply for France Excellence Eiffel Scholarship 2027 consideration through ENSICAEN is 20 November 2026. No closing hour is published. Request the link early enough to submit a complete file, rather than sending your first enquiry on the final day.
The last date for French institutions to submit nominations to Campus France is 6 January 2027. National results are scheduled for the week of 12 April 2027; ENSICAEN’s page still mentions results from March. Use the national calendar for planning and confirm updates with the school. Interview and separate admission dates are not specified in this call.
