AIM ADB–Japan Scholarship 2027 for Development Management Students
The Asian Institute of Management is accepting applications for the ADB–Japan Scholarship Program for its January 2027 Master in Development Management intake in the Philippines. Selected applicants receive comprehensive financial support, but the opportunity is limited to experienced professionals from eligible Asian and Pacific countries.
What Does the Scholarship Cover?
The scholarship covers the full programme fee, campus accommodation, a living allowance and one round-trip economy airfare. Under the wider ADB-JSP funding framework, support may also include medical insurance, books, instructional materials and approved research expenses.
The normal fee for AIM’s Master in Development Management is approximately USD 20,500, making this a genuinely fully funded opportunity rather than a partial tuition discount. Expenses for spouses, children, personal equipment and optional travel are generally not covered.
Who Can Apply for AIM ADB Scholarship?
Applicants normally need:
- Citizenship of an eligible ADB borrowing member country
- A recognized bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record
- At least two years of professional experience after graduation
- Strong written and spoken English
- Good health and financial need
- A commitment to return to their home country after graduation
- No previous master’s or doctoral degree
AIM indicates that candidates with supervisory, managerial, public-sector, NGO, development, sustainability or social-impact experience will be particularly relevant.
Citizens of Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, the Philippines and numerous other eligible Asian and Pacific countries may apply. Most African nationals are not eligible unless they also hold citizenship of an eligible ADB-JSP member country.
Documents Required for Application
Applicants should prepare their bachelor’s diploma, official transcript, passport, curriculum vitae, employment certificates, personal income certificate, family-income evidence and the ADB-JSP information sheet. Unmarried candidates may need to provide their parents’ income, while married candidates may be asked for their spouse’s income.
How to Apply?
Candidates must first apply for admission to AIM’s Master in Development Management programme. They should then indicate their interest in ADB-JSP funding and submit the required scholarship and financial documents to AIM.
Applications are not submitted directly to the Asian Development Bank. AIM assesses applicants, nominates its strongest candidates and forwards those nominations to ADB for final scholarship consideration.
