Eiffel France Scholarships 2027-2028 with Universities List to Apply for Admissions
France’s Eiffel Scholarship needs two decisions in your favour: a French institution must nominate you, and the national selection must award you funding. The first decision starts much earlier. If you wait for the national deadline before approaching a university, your preferred institution may already have finished selecting its candidates.
The France Excellence Eiffel Scholarship 2027 supports outstanding international students entering eligible master’s, engineering and doctoral programmes. Recipients receive €1,200 per month at master’s level or €2,000 at doctoral level, with travel and insurance support. Interested in turning your academic record into a funded place in France? Start by matching your degree to a programme and its nomination procedure.
This directory puts the calendar first: 18 universities and university-specific routes with published deadlines, plus five schools and institutes. It also identifies additional institutions whose information still needs confirmation. That distinction matters: a list of past Eiffel hosts is not a list of universities accepting applications today.
Checked against official institution pages: 9 October 2026. Confirmed and upcoming windows are distinguished below. This is a current working directory, not a claim that every participating institution in France has announced its 2027 call.
Start with the university calendar
The dates below belong to the 2027–2028 intake, but the applications take place in 2026. Unless a window is explicitly marked upcoming, the linked institution has published a current application route. Follow its exact programme restrictions and document instructions.
Your deadline is the university’s deadline. The national institutional submission deadline is 6 January 2027; students do not use that date to submit directly to Campus France. Times specified below are French local time or the institution’s stated timezone.
| Institution and official call | 2026 deadline or window | Your application route |
|---|---|---|
| UTBM | 28 October | Apply through E-candidat for the relevant engineering, master’s or doctoral route. Doctoral applicants also have later admission-confirmation and file-completion stages; see the notes below. |
| Montpellier Paul-Valéry | Master’s: 1 November PhD supervisor support: 2 November Complete PhD file: 29 November |
Master’s: submit the online contact form. PhD: secure a supervisor’s support, then complete the full file. Do not confuse this university with Université de Montpellier. |
| Paris-Panthéon-Assas | 19 October–5 November Closes at 3 p.m., Paris time |
Upcoming window. Read the 2027 application guide for your study level and follow the university’s prescribed submission procedure. |
| University of Rennes | Master’s and PhD: 6 November PhD closes at noon, Paris time |
Master’s: online pre-application. PhD: prescribed form and documents to dari-eiffel@listes.univ-rennes.fr, with supervisor support. |
| Université Paris-Saclay | PhD: 6 November Master’s: 26 November |
Master’s: contact the programme coordinator. PhD: ADUM application; this call supports international cotutelle projects only, with 12–18 months of funding. |
| Aix-Marseille University | Master’s: 11 November, 9 a.m. PhD: 25 November, 9 a.m. French local time |
Master’s: contact form with requested uploads. PhD: prepare the file with a supervisor and email dri-bourse-eiffel@univ-amu.fr, copying that supervisor. |
| Nantes Université | Master’s: 12 November PhD: 1 December |
Master’s: choose an eligible programme and its faculty-specific form. PhD: contact international.accueil@univ-nantes.fr with your name, Nantes supervisor’s details and doctoral school. |
| University of Orléans | Master’s: 13 November, 11:59 p.m. (UTC+1) PhD timetable: confirm with the office |
Master’s form and supporting PDF go to bourse.eiffel@univ-orleans.fr. The page separately asks PhD candidates to identify a supervisor before 4 December; obtain clarification rather than treating that as a universal submission deadline. |
| University of Lille — EGSESAM doctoral school | 13 November | Doctoral files must reach this school. This is a school-specific call, not a verified deadline for every Lille programme. |
| Université de Toulouse | Master’s: 15 November PhD: 29 November |
Use the university’s pre-application form. Master’s applicants need no prior coordinator contact. Doctoral applicants must first obtain supervisor support and have primary enrolment at this university. |
| Université d’Artois | 15 November, 11 p.m., Paris time | Complete the online form, then transmit the signed form and combined supporting PDF. Master’s: sri@univ-artois.fr. PhD: etudes-doctorales@univ-artois.fr. |
| University of Angers | Master’s: 15 November PhD: request the supervisor’s timetable |
Master’s applicants must be current or former students of an international partner institution. Contact the programme admissions office. Doctoral applications are submitted through supervisors. |
| Toulouse Capitole — Toulouse School of Management | 26 October–16 November | Upcoming eCandidatures window. Master’s-level applications only for this intake; the published TSM route does not accept PhD applications. |
| Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 | Master’s: 16 November, 11:59 p.m. PhD: 1 December, 11:59 p.m. French local time |
Master’s: prescribed form and file to bourse.eiffel@univ-lyon3.fr. PhD: follow the doctoral instructions and contact valerie.dutilleul@univ-lyon3.fr. |
| University of Poitiers | 20 November, noon | Use the current French call. Identify a programme or doctoral supervisor, then follow the linked Eiffel request procedure. The English page retains older dates. |
| Université Lumière Lyon 2 | 12 October–20 November Master’s closes at 11:59 p.m., French time |
Upcoming call. Master’s applicants use the online form. Doctoral applicants should confirm current instructions with ri.recherche@univ-lyon2.fr because the doctoral subsection retains older details. |
| Université de Corse Pasquale Paoli | 27 November, 5 p.m. | Prepare the pre-application through the international relations office, internationalstudent@univ-corse.fr, which coordinates contact with the academic programme. |
| Université Bourgogne Europe | Master’s: 4 December PhD: request separate instructions |
Get programme-coordinator approval, then send it to bourse-eiffel-master@ube.fr to receive the submission link. Doctoral enquiries: bourse-eiffel-doctorat@ube.fr. |
Two doctoral calendars need more than one date. At Montpellier Paul-Valéry, supervisor support and completion of the full application are separate stages, both shown in the table. UTBM’s doctoral guide also requires admission confirmation by 7 December 2026 and candidate-file improvement/submission during 8–16 December 2026. Ask your host to confirm later stages after pre-selection.
For Nantes doctoral applications, use the separate 2027 doctoral call. The university’s master’s and doctoral deadlines are different. Likewise, Lille’s EGSESAM notice covers that doctoral school; it should not be advertised as the deadline for every Lille applicant.
Engineering applicants have five more institutions to consider
Eiffel nominations are not confined to universities. Engineering schools and specialist institutes also publish calls. These institutions are listed separately so you can identify the actual provider and avoid confusing a school group with a neighbouring university. All dates in this table are in 2026.
| Institution and official call | 2026 deadline or window | Your application route |
|---|---|---|
| EURECOM | Before 15 November | Complete the first-session admission application and request the separate Eiffel guide from admission@eurecom.fr. |
| Institut Agro Dijon | 15 November | Contact the relevant office for the listed engineering, master’s or doctoral programme; use the programme-specific contacts in the call. |
| Bordeaux INP | 20 November | Select the relevant engineering school and follow the group’s current nomination procedure. This is separate from the University of Bordeaux. |
| ENSICAEN | 20 November | Email international@ensicaen.fr for the submission link. Shortlisted applicants can be invited to a motivation interview. |
| ITECH Lyon | 1 December | First-year entry to its French-taught engineering degree only. Published academic criteria include an average of at least 85/100 and a top-10% degree ranking. Apply through its linked form. |
Check the language and entry year before preparing a file. ITECH’s current route, for example, concerns first-year entry into its French-taught engineering programme; its ranking and average requirements should not be turned into universal Eiffel rules for other institutions.
Which other universities still need confirmation?
Do not treat an old page, a mixed-year timetable or an anticipated call as a confirmed open application. The following are useful leads, with the exact limitations that remain:
- Université de Montpellier: its official funding page gives 11 December 2026 for academic staff to forward supported master’s, engineering and doctoral files. However, the section still carries a 2026–2027 intake heading. Ask the international office to confirm the intended cycle and your student preparation deadline. This is a separate institution from Montpellier Paul-Valéry.
- Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1: the International Master in Life Sciences page says its local 2027 Eiffel campaign will open in October. A verified closing date was not established for this directory; contact that programme rather than assuming a university-wide timetable.
- Université Paris Nanterre: its financial-support page says the 2027–2028 dates and procedures will be announced from October. No confirmed current deadline is supplied here.
- University of Tours: search results indicate updated material, but the retrieved official page still returns older deadlines. Request the current call from bourse.eiffel@univ-tours.fr before relying on a date.
- Sorbonne Nouvelle: its Eiffel page contains a 2026 application window alongside older intake and submission information. Confirm the 2027 cycle and deadline with the international office before submitting.
- Sorbonne Université: the retrieved call is for the previous selection cycle. It establishes historical participation, not a verified 2027 deadline.
Sciences Po Paris will not participate in the 2027 selection. Its official statement says it will not submit applications for 2027–2028. Do not include it in an “open Eiffel universities” list copied from an earlier year.
If another French institution interests you, ask its international office whether it is accepting Eiffel 2027 nomination requests for your exact programme. A missing entry here does not establish non-participation, and a general scholarship page does not establish a current call.
Turn the directory into a shortlist you can actually use
Choose a programme first, then check whether its Eiffel route fits your circumstances. University reputation alone cannot establish your eligibility or tell you which office handles your application.
For the 2027 selection, master’s and engineering candidates must be born after 31 March 1997, corresponding to a maximum age of 29. Doctoral candidates must be born after 31 March 1991, corresponding to a maximum age of 35. Foreign nationality is required; dual nationals who hold French nationality are excluded.
Applicants already studying in France are ineligible for the master’s component. Doctoral applicants studying abroad receive priority, while some doctoral routes can accept candidates already studying in France. The institution’s particular route still matters: Paris-Saclay supports international cotutelle projects in this call, while Toulouse School of Management accepts master’s applications only.
The eligible subject families are biology and health, ecological transition, mathematics and digital technology, engineering sciences, French history/language/civilisation, law and political science, and economics and management. Check that your exact degree is included. Toulouse, for example, expressly excludes its Plant Biology master’s from this call; Paris-Saclay excludes Polytech Paris-Saclay engineering courses.
Then check the extra filters: Angers’ partner-institution rule, the programme’s entry qualifications, accepted language evidence and your previous scholarship history. There is no universal “IELTS-free” rule or GPA score that guarantees Eiffel selection. Existing French government funding and incompatible scholarships must be disclosed before nomination.
A previously unsuccessful Eiffel application at the same level cannot simply be resubmitted through a different host. Conversely, a former master’s Eiffel recipient may be eligible for a doctoral application under the applicable rules; Nantes explicitly recognises this distinction in its doctoral call.
Choose the correct way to ask for nomination
There are three common starting points, and the calendar tells you which one to use. Following the wrong one can leave a strong application outside the institution’s selection process.
Coordinator approval: Paris-Saclay and Bourgogne Europe require master’s applicants to approach the relevant academic coordinator. Name the exact programme, explain your qualification and academic results, and ask about Eiffel support. Bourgogne Europe then asks you to forward the coordinator’s approval to its international office.
A designated form: Rennes, Toulouse and several other institutions collect pre-applications online. Use the official form and upload the specified evidence. Toulouse expressly says master’s applicants do not need to contact the coordinator beforehand. An unsolicited email is not a substitute for its form.
Supervisor-led doctoral preparation: identify a researcher whose work fits your proposed thesis and establish support before the required submission stage. Depending on the call, you may need a research proposal, external assessment, doctoral-school approval, a funding plan or a cotutelle agreement.
Keep your CV, transcripts, degree evidence, ranking statement, career plan and language certificates ready, but follow each institution’s document list. Some preliminary forms ask for fewer items than the final Eiffel file. Where a ranking certificate is unavailable, ask what alternative evidence the institution accepts; do not invent a percentile.
Make the nomination commitment explicit. You may investigate programmes and their procedures, but follow institutional pre-selection restrictions. Only one institution may submit your Eiffel nomination to Campus France; duplicate nominations lead to rejection. Ordinary university admission applications are a separate process.
Do not wait automatically for an admission offer. Paris-Saclay’s Eiffel selection precedes its later regular master’s admission procedure. EURECOM, by contrast, requires a completed first-session admission application before Eiffel consideration. Follow your chosen institution’s order.
Check your costs before accepting the plan
Eiffel’s living support does not settle every charge attached to your degree. The programme does not itself pay tuition. Registration-fee exemptions can apply to qualifying national degrees and accredited engineering programmes at eligible public institutions; ask what remains payable for your exact course.
Travel and insurance support and accommodation-search assistance are valuable, but housing assistance is not free rent. Account for any remaining tuition, deposits, initial living expenses and admission or administrative fees. Avoid treating “No Application Fees” as a universal promise.
Master’s support can last up to 12 months for M2 or 24 months for M1; eligible engineering degrees can receive up to 36 months. Doctoral support depends on the route and study stage, including 12-, 18- or 36-month arrangements. For a partially funded doctorate, establish how the rest of the thesis will be financed.
The national call opened on 2 October 2026, with results expected from the week of 12 April 2027. University pre-selection does not guarantee an award, and an award does not automatically complete admission, enrolment or visa requirements.
Make your next move concrete: choose two or three academically suitable programmes to investigate, read their current calls, and identify the required form, coordinator or supervisor. Then work backwards from the internal deadline and ensure that one institution presents your final nomination. That is how this list becomes an application rather than another saved scholarship link.
