Tongji University Opens Applications for Fully-Funded CSC Scholarship 2026

Tongji University, one of China’s top research institutions, has officially opened applications for the 2026–2027 Chinese Government Scholarship – High-Level Postgraduate Program (Category B). The scholarship offers outstanding international students the opportunity to pursue Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Shanghai under a fully funded scheme supported by the Chinese Government.

Through this program, selected students will receive a full tuition fee waiver, free on-campus accommodation (or a housing subsidy if off-campus), a monthly living stipend of RMB 3,000 for Master’s students and RMB 3,500 for Doctoral students, along with comprehensive medical insurance for the entire duration of their study.

To be eligible, applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health, hold a Bachelor’s degree when applying for a Master’s program or a Master’s degree when applying for a Doctoral program, and be under 35 years old for Master’s and under 40 years old for PhD programs. Candidates for Chinese-taught programs must provide an HSK certificate, while those applying for English-taught programs should submit valid IELTS or TOEFL scores.

The application process consists of two main steps. Applicants must first complete their online application through the Tongji University International Student System, selecting the Chinese Government Scholarship (Type B) option and uploading all required materials before December 20, 2025. The second step requires applicants to submit their information through the China Scholarship Council (CSC) Online Application System, using Agency Number 10247 and selecting the same program category.

Tongji University will review all submitted applications, conduct assessments or interviews if required, and issue Pre-admission Notices to qualified candidates. The final list of selected scholars will be confirmed by the China Scholarship Council after a national review process.

This scholarship provides an exceptional opportunity for students worldwide to pursue advanced education and research in one of China’s most innovative academic environments.
