Who Can Apply?
The scholarship is not open to every nationality.
For 2027/28, eligible applicants include citizens of Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Gabon, Georgia, Guatemala, Honduras, Mauritania, Palestine, Ukraine, Zambia, and eligible applicants connected with the Belarusian democratic opposition.
Applicants must not already be enrolled at a university in the Czech Republic when submitting the application. Czech citizens, EU citizens and foreign nationals holding permanent residence in Czechia are not eligible through this development-cooperation scholarship route.
English-language scholarships support selected follow-up Master’s programs and doctoral programs.
What Does the Czech Republic Scholarship Pay?
The Czech Government pays tuition fees on behalf of scholarship recipients and provides a monthly allowance intended to meet ordinary study and living expenses. Master’s students currently receive CZK 16,000 (Around US$800) per month, while PhD scholars receive CZK 24,960 (US$1200) per month.
Students may live in university dormitories and use student canteens, but accommodation, food and local transportation are generally paid from the monthly stipend rather than being separately free.
