Scholarship Coverage and Benefits
Selected scholars will enjoy a fully funded education experience in Hungary, including:
-  Full Tuition Fee Exemption 
 – No tuition costs throughout the entire duration of the study program.
-  Monthly Living Stipend 
 – HUF 43,700 per month (≈ €110) to assist with daily living expenses for 12 months each year.
-  Accommodation Support 
 – Free dormitory placement or HUF 40,000 (€100) monthly housing contribution.
-  Medical Insurance 
 – Comprehensive health coverage up to HUF 65,000 (€165) per year per person.
Note: While the scholarship covers major expenses, students should budget for personal costs, especially in larger cities such as Budapest.

More than 900 study programs are offered across 30 Hungarian universities, including:

Students can apply for up to two (02) programs of their choice, either within the same or different universities.
Eligible Countries
Applicants are welcome from over 100 partner countries, including:
- Asia: Pakistan, India, Indonesia, China, Thailand, Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, and more.
- Africa: Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt, Ghana, Ethiopia, Uganda, South Africa, etc.
- Europe: Albania, Serbia, Montenegro, Ukraine, Bosnia & Herzegovina, etc.
- Americas: Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, and others.
Each candidate must apply through their national “sending partner” authority (usually the ministry of education or foreign affairs).

Required Application Documents
All following documents must be uploaded in your online Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship application:
Mandatory Documents:
- Completed online application form
- Motivation letter (minimum 1 page)
- Language proficiency certificate or Medium of Instruction letter
- Academic transcripts and diplomas (with certified translations)
- Copy of passport or national ID
- Statement for Application acceptance (digital consent)
Additional Documents (if applicable):
- Portfolio or performance sample (for Art and Music applicants)
- Recommendation letter (for self-financed students in Hungary reapplying)
Missing documents can be uploaded later, but no later than 1 August 2026.
Who Cannot Apply?
You are not eligible for Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship if:
- You are a Hungarian citizen or hold dual citizenship with Hungary.
- You already hold a residence permit or refugee status in Hungary.
- You are under 18 years of age by 31 August 2026 (except Dance program applicants).
-  You have previously received a Stipendium Hungaricum award and didn’t commence studies.
