Fully Funded Scholarships 2026 Openings

Radboud University Opens Competitive Scholarships for International Master’s Students in 2026

Radboud University in the Netherlands has officially announced the Radboud Scholarship Programme 2026, offering a highly competitive opportunity for talented international students from non-EU and non-EEA countries to pursue an English-taught Master’s degree in Europe for the 2026–2027 academic year. Known for its academic rigor and selective intake, this scholarship is aimed at students with strong academic records who are seeking a world-class education with significantly reduced tuition costs.

The Radboud Scholarship Programme is not a fully funded award, but it remains one of the most attractive partial scholarships in the Netherlands due to the substantial financial relief it provides. Successful applicants will see their tuition fee reduced to €2,695, instead of the standard non-EU tuition that can reach €18,000 per year, depending on the programme. In addition, the scholarship covers essential costs related to studying in the Netherlands, including the visa, residence permit, health insurance, and liability insurance, removing some of the most common financial barriers faced by international students.

For the 2026–2027 intake, Radboud University will award a maximum of 33 scholarships, distributed across six faculties: Arts, Law, Nijmegen School of Management, Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies, Science, and Social Sciences. All eligible English-taught Master’s programmes are included, with the exception of Erasmus Mundus and joint-degree Master’s programmes.

The scholarship is designed for academically outstanding students who have completed their previous education outside the Netherlands. Applicants must hold a non-EU/non-EEA passport, meet the English language requirements of their chosen programme, and secure full admission to an eligible Master’s programme starting 1 September 2026. Students must also be able to meet Dutch visa requirements and enroll as full-time students at Radboud University for the duration of the programme.

Selection for the Radboud Scholarship is highly competitive and handled at the faculty level. Committees assess applicants based on academic excellence, the relevance of their previous degree, the quality of their motivation, and their future potential. Strong reference letters, preferably from academic referees, play a crucial role in the evaluation process. Admission to a Master’s programme does not guarantee selection for the scholarship, as both processes are assessed independently.

Students admitted to two-year Master’s programmes should note that continuation of the scholarship into the second year depends on academic performance. To remain eligible, all first-year courses must be successfully completed.

Applications must be submitted through the OSIRIS Application System while applying for admission to a Master’s programme. Applicants must indicate their interest in the Radboud Scholarship during the application process and upload additional documents, including two reference letters and a CV. The initial submission deadline is 31 January 2026, while the final deadline for a complete application is 14 February 2026. Scholarship results are expected to be communicated before mid-April 2026.
